Counterbalance was commissioned to gain planning permission to convert an existing garage into a kitchen/dining room to a semi-detached property in Farnborough, Hampshire.
The process involved measuring the existing property and producing existing and proposed planning drawings. Which were submitted to the local authority, Rushmoor Borough Council. Counterbalance managed the whole process on behalf of client including dialogue with the planning department. The application was successful and permission granted, the project was been completed in 2023.
Garage conversions can be undertaken using permitted development rights under certain circumstances, however, it was decided with the client that full planning permission would be gained due to the change of roof from flat to pitched.
