Counterbalance has been appointed by the owner to develop the detail design and project manage the renovation and extension of their period dwelling to create a high quality family home in line with modern design standards and specification. (RIBA Stages 1-3 design by NRDA)
The property is situated within the De Beauvoir Conservation Area, notable for the excellent survival
of high quality short terraces and houses dating from c.1830-50. The existing dwelling is located within a three storey Victorian terraced house that was converted into flats in the late 20th century. Their home is a single storey one bedroom apartment on the lower ground floor of the property, including the garden to the rear.
The proposal includes a new single storey rear extension, along with various associated internal alterations including removal of chimneys. The project is currently in construction and due for completion in spring 2024.
