Counterbalance has been commissioned by the property owners to undertake design studies of their 4 bedroom family detached house located in Woking, Surrey to maximise the space within their home as their family grows.
We have managed the project from start to finish, including a planning householder application which was approved with no objections. We are currently tendering the project and the client intents to proceed with the construction of project in 2024.
The design process involved testing the potential options of re-configuring the ground floor whilst maintaining a separate front living room and WC. By adding a ground floor extension to the rear of the property it has helped make a more functional kitchen and improve the relationship between kitchen, dining, and garden space.
By constructing a small side extension it has improve the general circulation space, add utility space/room (Wash/dryer and boiler) and improved storage.

By reconfiguring the layout at the 1st floor level it has created an en-suite to the 2nd bedroom while retaining 4 bedrooms. Along with extending into the loft space to add a 5th primary bedroom with en-suite.

The process has involved helping the client with the layout and interior design of all floors, materials and built-in furniture along with the design of the kitchen, bathrooms and en-suite.
